My name is Yahya, and I am a new faculty member at School of International Studies (SIS). I was born and raised in the Old City of Damascus, Syria. I came to Japan as an international student and earned both my Master’s and Ph.D. degrees from the Osaka School of International Public Policy (OSIPP), Osaka University. I also participated in several research internships and workshops across Europe, East Asia, and the Middle East. These rewarding cross-cultural experiences have humbly shaped my transnational identity, communication skills, and global citizenship.

My academic focus is on forced migration studies, MENA studies, and Japan–Middle East relations. At SIS, I genuinely enjoy teaching topics related to global politics, MENA politics, and global displacement. My teaching philosophy is all about student-centered learning, where students feel valued, engaged, and intellectually challenged. I strive to create an interactive classroom environment through dynamic lecturing, thoughtful discussions, and constructive feedback.

私の名前はヤヒヤです。関西学院大学国際学部の新しい教員として着任しました。私はシリアのダマスカス旧市街で生まれ育ちました。留学生として日本に来て、大阪大学大学院国際公共政策研究科（OSIPP）で修士号と博士号を取得しました。また、ヨーロッパ、東アジア、中東における複数の研究インターンシップやワークショップに参加しました。これらの貴重な異文化体験を通じて、自分の越境的アイデンティティ、コミュニケーション能力、そしてグローバル市民意識が培われました。

私の専門分野は強制移住研究、MENA（中東・北アフリカ）研究、日本と中東の関係です。国際学部では、世界政治、MENAの政治、グローバルな移住・避難に関するテーマを教えることに大きな喜びを感じています。私の教育理念は、学生主体の学習環境を作ることです。学生が価値を感じ、積極的に関与し、知的に刺激を受けるような授業を目指しています。ダイナミックな講義、思慮深い議論、建設的なフィードバックを通じて、インタラクティブな教育環境を構築したいと考えています。

国際学部の学生の皆さん、皆さんの刺激的な学問の旅に加われることを心から楽しみにしています。 親しみやすい教員として、頼れるメンターとして、皆さんをサポートしたいと思います。
