変更のポイントを紹介します。

ポイント１：ヨーロッパをテーマにした科目がさらに充実！
世界の地域ごとをテーマにした科目を充実させるため、「地域研究科目」群を新設しました。
これまでの北米・アジア地域に加え、ヨーロッパ地域の科目が加わり、より幅広い地域の学問領域から学ぶことができます。

ポイント２：コース制がなくなります！
これまでは３年次に北米コースかアジアコースを選択し、自分が選択したコース内で所定の単位数を修得する必要がありました。2023年度からは、3年次のコース選択がなくなり、地域研究科目の４つの科目群（グローバル・北米・アジア・ヨーロッパ）から合わせて34単位を修得します（最低2つの科目群から１科目2単位以上の修得が必要）。
これにより、自分の興味に応じた科目を、特定の地域に縛られることなく履修することが可能となりました。


 

The School of International Studies will have a new curriculum starting in the 2023 academic year.
With the abolition of the course system, the new curriculum will enable students to study across three academic fields (Cultures and Languages, Societies and Politics, and Economics and Management) without bias toward any particular region.
The enriched curriculum will provide students with opportunities to acquire comprehensive skills to understand global affairs from a wide range of perspectives.

The key points of the changes

Point 1: Enriched with more courses on topics of Europe
We will establish a new comprehensive course group on area studies to enhance classes focusing on each region of the world.
Courses on European Studies will be added to the existing courses on North American and Asian Studies, allowing students to learn academic fields in the broader region range.

Point 2: Abolishment of the course system
Currently, students are required to select either the North American or Asian Studies Course in their third year and earn the prescribed number of credits in the course of their choice.
From the 2023 academic year, the third-year course selection will be unnecessary. Instead, students will need to earn 34 credits from four groups (Global, North American, Asian, and European) of the area study course.
(They must earn a minimum of two credits each from at least two area groups.)
That will enable our students to take courses that match their interests without being restricted to a specific region.
