みなさん、こんにちは。2022年４月より国際学部のメンバーとなりました橋本周子です。人間は〈食〉に何を求め、どのような工夫をなし、それについてどのように考え、文章を紡いできたのかーーこういった観点から、とりわけフランス近代を中心に研究しています。
　私自身は、ちょうど高校生のみなさんくらいの時に、料理をすること・その作ったものを人が食べるということ、その単純な事実に強く魅せられ、結果的にこのような研究をするに至りました。学生のみなさんと相対する時には、それぞれが一番〈好き〉（もちろん強烈に〈嫌い〉でも構わないのですが）なことを大切にしてほしいと考えています。例えばゼミではそれを共に発見し、さらに言語化して自分自身に（さらには他人に）説明できるようになることを目指し、対話・議論を重ねています。

Hello everyone, my name is Chikako Hashimoto, and I joined the School of International Studies in April 2022. My research focuses on what people seek in food, how they elaborate on their food, how they think about it, and how they write about it, especially in the modern French.
I became fascinated by the simple fact of cooking and eating food when I was in high school, and eventually, that has led me to do the research I am doing now. When dealing with students, I expect each student to focus on what they “like” the most (or what they “dislike” intensely would be totally fine too). In my seminar course, we are engaged in dialogues and discussions to discover those things together and then verbalize and explain them to ourselves (and even to others).
