山尾志桜里衆議院議員との座談会に国際学部生が参加 / SIS Students Had Roundtable Discussion with Diet Member Shiori Yamao
2021年度春学期総合コース808（リーダーシップ論入門：代表・志甫啓国際学部教授）では、授業担当者の一人である井上武史先生（司法研究科教授）の働きかけにより、山尾志桜里衆議院議員をゲストスピーカーとしてお招きしました。授業に先立ち、学生有志による座談会が吉岡記念館で実施されました。座談会に参加した国際学部生２名の声をお届けします。
In the Spring semester of the 2021 academic year, Integrated Course 808 (Introduction to Leadership Theory / Representative instructor: Professor Kei Shiho from the School of International Studies) invited Ms. Shiori Yamao, Member of the House of Representatives, as a guest speaker through the initiative of one of the course instructors, Professor Takeshi Inoue from the Law School. The desired students had a roundtable discussion with Ms. Yamao at the Yoshioka Memorial Hall before the class. Here are comments from two students from the School of International Studies who participated in the discussion.
住岡 慶人さん（3年生：大阪市立東高等学校出身）
●座談会に参加しての感想を聞かせてください
最初お会いした時、山尾さんの印象は私が持っていた国会議員のイメージとは大きく異なっていました。国会議員の方というのは何となく堅いイメージがありましたが、山尾さんはそのようなことはなくフレンドリーな方でした。そしてニュースなどでよく見る与党の批判ばかりする野党議員とは異なり、共通の問題意識を持つ与党議員とは協力したり自身の党で少数派になったとしても自身の意見を貫くことのできる行動力を持った方なのだなと感じました。そして座談会で挙がった若者の政治離れの問題についても深刻に受け止め、「若者が政治に参加しないのは自分たちの意見で世の中が変わるという経験をしたことがないからだ」とおっしゃっていました。私は面倒くさいこと、時間がないことなどが原因だと考えていたので驚きました。このような意見は、この実情に問題意識を持っている方でないと出すことができないものだと思います。この座談会は私の政治に対する考え方を変えるいい機会になりました。私はあまり政治には関心がありませんでしたが、山尾さんとの座談会を通して政治は誰がやっても一緒という想いはなくなりました。これからは自分の意見で世の中が変わるかもしれないという自覚をもって積極的に政治に参加しようと思います。
●この講義（総合コース808）を履修したのはなぜですか？
学部の講義では学べない専門性のある科目だったからです。リーダーシップ論という近年ビジネススクールでも人気のテーマを、基礎的な部分ではあるかもしれませんが学べる講義は他にないと思います。様々な方面からゲストスピーカーの方が来られ、多様な形態のリーダーシップのあり方を考えることができました。
Mr. Keito Sumioka

●How did you feel about participating in the roundtable discussion?
When I first met Ms. Yamao, she gave me an impression very different from the one I had of a Diet member. I had imagined that they were somewhat uptight, but she was friendly. I thought she was not like opposition party members we often see on the news who only criticize the ruling party and had the ability to cooperate with members of the ruling party with whom she shares an awareness of issues and to stand up for her own opinions even if she is in the minority in her own party. Also, she took seriously young people's disengagement from politics, which was raised during the discussion. She said, "Young people don't participate in politics because they have never had the experience of changing society through their own opinions." I was surprised by her words because I thought it was due to other reasons, such as the hassle or lack of time. I believe that such an opinion can only be expressed by those aware of the issues involved in the actual situation. This roundtable discussion was an excellent opportunity for me to change my view on politics. I have never been very much interested in politics, but through the discussion with Ms. Yamao, I no longer think that politics is the same no matter who is running it. From now on, I will actively participate in politics with the awareness that my opinions may change the world.
●Why did you take this course (Integrated Course 808)?
I took this course because it was a specialized subject that I could not learn in courses offered by the school I belonged to. I don't think there are any other lectures where you can learn leadership theory, a popular topic in business schools in recent years, even though it may be an introductory level. Guest speakers came from various fields, and I was able to consider multiple forms of leadership.

●座談会に参加しての感想を聞かせてください
はじめお会いした時、山尾議員と同じ空間にいることに感動しながらも、存在感に圧倒され、緊張していました。しかし、山尾議員の方から話を振ってくださったので次第に緊張感が和らぎ、座談会を楽しむことができました。山尾議員は、日本政府の議員の男女比や、年代別の議員の数に偏りがあることに疑問をもてば、ほかの議員の方に話を持ちかけたり、保育園問題への解決に取り組んだりしてきました。そこでは、ほかの議員の方の意見に対する疑問点を、恐れずに自分からはっきり述べています。これはそう簡単なことではないと思います。私にとっては、勇気のいることです。しかし、悩みながらもその課題を解決しようとする山尾議員の前向きな姿に感銘を受けました。また、支持をする国民の人々の期待に応えるために、国民のリーダーとして行動し、その役割を果たすことの難しさも、話を聞いて感じました。私も、現状がおかしいと思ったことに対して、そのままにしておくのではなく、前向きに取り組む姿勢を大切にしていこうという気持ちになりました。よりよい社会に向けて、国民のリーダーとして課題に立ち向かう女性にお会いすることができて、非常に刺激を受けました。
●この講義（総合コース808）を履修したのはなぜですか？
私は基礎演習でサーバントリーダーシップについて学習しました。リーダーシップ論に興味を持ちはじめた時にこの授業を知り、受講しようと思ったことが動機です。
Ms. Saya Washida
(2nd-year student, Graduate from Fukui Prefectural Fujishima High School)
●How did you feel about participating in the roundtable discussion?
When I first met Representative Yamao, I was excited to be in the same room with her but was also overwhelmed by her presence and nervous. However, as she talked to me herself, my nervousness gradually eased, and I could enjoy the roundtable discussion. Whenever Ms. Yamao had doubts about the gender ratio in the Japanese government and the uneven number of diet members by age group, she approached other diet members. She also has been working on solutions to the nursery school problem. She is not afraid to express her doubts about other members' opinions or speak up. I think that is not easy to do. At least, for me, it takes much courage. I was impressed by the positive attitude of Ms. Yamao, who was willing to resolve the various issues even though being troubled by them. From her lecture, I felt that it was difficult to act as one of the national leaders and fulfill her role of meeting her supporters' expectations. I also thought I should not just leave things as they are when I feel something is wrong with the current situation but instead tackle the problem with a positive attitude. It was very inspiring to meet a woman facing challenges as a leader of the people toward a better society.
●Why did you take this course (Integrated Course 808)?
I learned about servant leadership in the Basic Seminar course. I was motivated to take this class when I learned about it, just as I was beginning to develop an interest in leadership theory.
