国際学部で提供している沢山の授業の中から、学部ならではと思われるものを紹介します。
第一回目は、長谷尚弥教授による「Introduction to Applied Linguistics」です。

Among the various courses offered by the School of International Studies (SIS), we would like to introduce a class that is unique to the School.
The first one of the series is "Introduction to Applied Linguistics" by Professor Naoya Hase.

この授業は応用言語学（ここでは言語教育学とほぼ同義）の入門コースで、将来英語教員を目指す学生だけではなく、広く言語や言語教育、言語学習に興味・関心を持つ学生を対象としたものです。英語で開講されることもあり、毎年、日本語母語話者だけではなく、様々な国からの留学生も履修しています。毎回の授業では、事前に読んできた教材に基づいて４名程度のグループに分かれたディスカッション、続いてクラス全体でディスカッションを行います。受講生の多様なバックグラウンドや経験に基づく意見は興味深く、これらのディスカッションは大変盛り上がります。

This is an introductory course to applied linguistics or teaching and learning foreign languages including English. The main target of this course is students who are thinking of teaching foreign languages including English in the future, but anyone is welcome who is interested in languages and language teaching and learning. Every class meeting is composed of small group discussions followed by class discussion. Offered in English, this course attracts students of various backgrounds every year, both domestic and international, and they make weekly discussions very interesting!
