国際学部の教員として新たにメンバーに加わりましたバングラデシュ出身のタスリマ・アクターです。2009年、立命館アジア太平洋大学でMBAを取得するためにやってきた大分県別府市で、この美しい国での生活をスタートさせました。
博士号を関西学院大学（KGU）のInstitute of Business & Accountingで取得し、2021年4月に国際学部に入職しました。このような機会を得て、母校のために働けることを大変嬉しく思っています。大学院在学中は、世界中から来た多くのの良き友人と出会い、様々な文化を経験し、異なる出自や文化を持つ人々に共感することを学びました。これらの学びは、多文化環境で生活し、仕事をする上で非常に役に立つと思っています。
国際学部では、経営学に関する様々なコースを教えています。私の研究テーマは、企業のサステナビリティ・マネジメント、サステナビリティ・アカウンティング＆レポーティング、企業の社会的責任（CSR）、統合報告などです。普段の授業は、毎回ディスカッションの時間を設けるなど、双方向的に行われています。また、少人数制の授業なので、クラス全体や学生ひとりひとりに目を配ることが可能です。効果的な学習には双方向のコミュニケーションが必要だという観点から、私の授業では、特にクラス内でのディスカッションに力を入れています。教室でのディスカッションは、テキストには書かれていない多くの貴重な洞察を与えてくれるはずです。
将来の学習について考えている人にとって、国際学部で学ぶことは素晴らしい選択肢となるでしょう。学部では、「文化と言語」、「社会と政治」、「経済と経営」という3つの分野を柱に多くのコースを提供しており、自分の興味に合わせて分野を選ぶことができます。また、英語、日本語ともに、習熟度を高め、バランスの良い語学力を身に着けていくことも可能です。最新の教育設備を備え、多様な学生と教員が集うこの学部では、国際的な環境に身を置きながら、日本の大学生活を体験することができるのです。最後になりましたが、KGUの落ち着いた美しいキャンパスは、あなたの心の癒しとなり、ストレスを和らげてくれるでしょう。皆さんがどこにいようとも、将来の活躍を祈っています。
 

I am Taslima AKHTER, a new member to the SIS (School of International Studies) family. I am from Bangladesh and my journey to this beautiful country began in 2009 when I first came here to pursue my MBA in Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University in Beppu, Oita.
I have joined SIS in April 2021. Meanwhile, I completed my Ph.D. from the Institute of Business & Accounting of the same university, Kwansei Gakuin University (KGU). That is why, I am so delighted to get this opportunity to work here, to serve my alma mater! During my studies, I have made many good friends from around the world, experienced many different cultures and learned to be more empathetic to people of different origins and cultures. I believe these learnings are quite useful to live and work in any multicultural environment.
At SIS, I teach a number of courses in Management. My research interest includes Corporate Sustainability Management, Sustainability Accounting and Reporting, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), and Integrated Reporting. Usually, the classes are interactive with regular interval for discussion. Moreover, small class sizes give us more opportunities to observe the class as a whole and students as individuals. I particularly encourage class discussion in my classes. I believe that effective learning requires two-way communication. Classroom discussion could give you many valuable insights that are not written in any textbook.
For those who are thinking about your future studies, SIS could be a great option for you. The school offers a good number of courses in three different fields namely “Cultures and Languages”, “Societies and Politics” and “Economics and Management”. You could choose an area based on your interest. You could also develop your proficiency and make a good balance of your language skill: English and Japanese. With all the latest educational facilities and a diverse body of students and faculties, you would be exposed to an international environment while experiencing the essence of a true Japanese university.
