上村知さん(理工学部 情報科学科 4年生 巳波弘佳研究室)が12月21日(木)から22日(金)にかけてサテライトキャンパスひろしまで開催された電子情報通信学会インターネットアーキテクチャ研究会において「学生研究奨励賞」を受賞しました。
受賞した研究の概要は以下のとおりです。

A Scheduling Algorithm for On-Demand Transportation Services with Patrolling Functions in Local Communities

【概要】
With Japan's declining birthrate, aging population, and labor shortage rapidly progressing, the nation is in dire need of having its transportation system reexamined. For this reason, the implementation of ``green-slow-mobility'' projects is being considered in various areas nationwide, a system in which local community members provide transportation for one another in a mutually supportive manner. However, it is not easy to realize such projects as a sustainable business. It requires a system that optimizes the schedule considering various factors, including but not limited to the availability of volunteer drivers and passenger requests- a quality that has not been a major point of focus in research so far. In this paper, we describe an operation system designed for a green slow mobility project that is in collaboration with a local government. This system enables vehicles equipped with communication and image processing functions to collect information on road conditions and accept ride requests while simultaneously implementing security patrols to maintain the community's safety. This paper strongly focuses on the scheduling algorithm and the evaluation of its performance.
