The International Conference on the Biological Roles of Polyamines 2024, the 7th Yamada Symposium, organized by Prof. Shinsuke Fujiwara, Dean of the School of Biological and Environmental Sciences, was held at the Kobe Ariston Hotel and Shin-Sho Hall from August 25th to 30th. The symposium aimed to explore research frontiers and perspectives on emerging subjects, particularly by engaging younger researchers who will play pivotal roles in the future of polyamine research. A total of 152 scientists from 20 countries attended the conference, where presentations and discussions focused on the biological roles of polyamines. The 'Polyamigos' had the opportunity to engage in deep discussions and exchange innovative ideas across a wide range of sessions. From polyamines and health to therapeutic applications, gene regulation, and medicinal chemistry, the knowledge shared was invaluable.
