藤原伸介・生命環境学部教授が、2025年7月13日から7月18日にかけ、米国・ニューハンプシャー州ウォータービルバレイで開催されたGordon Research Conference (GRC)・The Role of Polyamines in Health and Diseaseにおいて、Discussion Leaderとして参加しました。Gordon Research Conferenceは、最先端の未発表研究を紹介し、活発な議論と交流を重視する国際会議です。5日間にわたり、自然豊かな場所で開催され、あらゆるキャリア段階の研究者が集い、共同研究やネットワークの構築が促進されます。プログラムには世界中からの講演やポスター発表が含まれ、共同の食事や自由時間を通じた交流の機会も設けられています。15カ国以上の国から130名もの研究者が集まり発表・討議が行われました。疾患と健康長寿に関する発表が多く行われ、今、流行している腸内細菌叢が免疫力、認知能力に関与していることを示す最新の知見が紹介されました。発酵食品の優位性を示す発表もありました。

Gordon Research Conference (GRC)・The Role of Polyamines in Health and Disease is a leading international conference showcasing cutting-edge, unpublished research, with ample time for discussion and informal interaction from 15 countries with 130 attendees gathered to give presentations and hold discussions. Many presentations focused on disease and healthy longevity, highlighting recent findings on the role of the gut microbiota—currently a topic of great interest—in regulating immune function and cognitive ability. Several talks also demonstrated the advantages of fermented foods. Spanning five days, it brings together scientists at all career stages to foster collaboration and community.
