Daniel Warchulski - an IEFL in the School of Architecture - Presented at the 45th Thailand TESOL International Conference in Bangkok Thailand
Daniel Warchulski (IEFL), from the School of Architecture, attended and gave a presentation at the 45th Thailand TESOL International Conference 2026. The conference was held at the Jubilee Prestige Hotel Ratchada in Bangkok, Thailand from January 30th to 31st. The purpose of the conference was bring together TESOL educational professionals, researchers, students and others from around the world to share ideas and research, and to exchange experiences about pedagogies, materials and innovations in the field. The conference was attended by hundreds of individuals from many countries.
Daniel's presentation tilte was "The C5 Keystone Project: Coordinating Communication and Writing Classes into a Capstone Project." The presentation described an innovative project for EFL learners that involved coordination of classes and leveraging the 5Cs (Communication, Collaboration, Critical Thinking, Creativity and Carrying Ownership) into a final assignment about a contemporary social issue. The presentation introduced an approach that balanced an emphasis on process and product, including scaffolded literacy, speaking, peer-review, rubrics and clear assessment criteria. These ideas were shared with a wide variety of other interested TESOL professionals, researchers and educators.
