IEFL, Stephen McNamara, Kwansei Gakuin University, Language Center, gave a presentation on the CDF in Japanese Undergraduate Lessons at the 1st Annual CDF Study Group, which was held from 2024/9/9 to 2024/9/10 in The University of Vienna, Vienna, Austria. This study group is focused on cognitive discourse functions and their application and theory in second language education. The study group was initiated by Christiane Dalton-Puffer, a professor at the University of Vienna, and the founder of the CDF construct. Professors and doctoral researchers gathered to give presentations, workshops, and hold discussions. With a small-sized group such as this, much detailed discussion was able to be had, much of the discussion was methodological in nature.
