Professor Daisuke Chugo, Yusuke Oda (first-year master's student) and Masafumi Yoneoka (first-year master's student) gave presentations on the theme of autonomous mobile robots at The 2025 SICE Festival with Annual Conference (SICE FES 2025) held in Chiang Mai, Thailand, from 9 to 12 September. The presentation was given under the theme of Autonomous Mobile Robots. The title of the papers are "Path Planning for Autonomous Mobile Robots Considering Walking Rules Generated by Road Surface Guidance Signs" and Proposal of a Pedestrian Recognition Method for Mobile Robots Using Drones Flying Overhead and a Pedestrian Avoidance Navigation Method Based on It". both papers were presented in the session on mobile robots, the presentation combining drones and ground-based mobile robots attracted particular attention. SICE FES2025 is an international conference on robotics, mechatronics and system integration organised by the Society of Instrument and Control Engineers (SICE). More than 500 experts from over 20 countries gathered for presentations and discussions.
