The Faculty of Architecture has introduced a ShopBot PRSalpha 96-48-8 at the Architectural Experiment Building.

Through the 2025 Research Equipment and Facility Acquisition Program, the Faculty of Architecture introduced a ShopBot PRSalpha 96-48-8 at the Architectural Experiment Building. The introduction of this facility has enabled materials to be precisely cut and machined into a wide variety of shapes based on digital data, allowing components at various scales to be fabricated on campus. This is expected to contribute to research on complex geometries and new connection methods and construction systems through an iterative process of design, analysis, fabrication, and experimental verification. Moving forward,this facility will continue to be utilized to advance research on architectural construction methods and structural systems using digital fabrication.
