Atsushi Takahashi (Associate Professor, School of Humanities) Gives Presentation on the Scholastic theologians’ critique of Averroes at 2026 AAIWG International Summer Conference
Atsushi Takahashi, Associate Professor in the School of Humanities, gave a presentation at the 2026 AAIWG International Summer Conference, held in Paris, France, from May 26 to 29, 2026. His presentation focused on the criticism of Averroes’ philosophy by medieval scholastic theologians.
The 2026 AAIWG International Summer Conference is a regularly held international conference devoted to the study of the relationship between medieval Western philosophy and Arabic philosophy. This year’s conference brought together approximately 30 researchers from more than five countries for presentations and discussions.
As the conference commemorated the 900th anniversary of Averroes’ birth, it provided an important opportunity to present internationally research related to Takahashi’s ongoing international collaborative project. It also enabled him to exchange ideas and build connections with researchers that will contribute to his future research activities.
