the Nishinomiya Uegahara Campus of Kwansei Gakuin University Hosts The 88th National Conference of the Japan Comparative Literature Association

The 88th National Conference of the Japan Comparative Literature Association, chaired by Professor Kazushige Ohigashi of the School of Law and Politics, was held on June 13 and 14, 2026, at the Nishinomiya Uegahara Campus of Kwansei Gakuin University.
Held annually, the national conference brings together scholars—primarily members of the Association—whose research focuses on comparative literature. Through research presentations, workshops, and symposia, participants engage in discussions that further advance the field of comparative literature.
More than 150 participants from across Japan attended this year's conference. Numerous presenters delivered outstanding papers on a wide range of topics in comparative literature, giving rise to lively and stimulating discussions.
The field of comparative literature encompasses specialists from a diverse array of disciplines, and the national conference provides a valuable opportunity for researchers to share their expertise and exchange ideas with one another.
The conference also served as an important occasion to showcase the achievements and intellectual appeal of comparative literature to a broader audience, with Kwansei Gakuin University as its venue.
We would like to express our sincere gratitude to Kwansei Gakuin University for its generous support of this conference.
