IEFL Peter Chu Assists in RELC International Conference Presentation
IEFL Peter Chu of the School of Biological and Environmental Sciences participated as a co-presenter in a parallel paper presentation on textbook translanguaging practices at the 60th RELC International Conference, which was held from March 9th to 11th in Singapore. The Conference is an event organized by a language-education centre of the Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization (SEAMEO), the SEAMEO Regional Language Centre (RELC). The theme of this year’s conference was global trends and innovations, focusing on the interlocking triad of theory, research, and practice, with a total of 192 parallel sessions, 15 workshop sessions, and 14 poster presentations given by speakers from countries spanning the globe and particularly strong representation from Asian nations. There were stimulating talks, exchanges of intriguing ideas, and opportunities for collaboration.
