Professor Shinsuke Shigeto, Department of Chemistry, School of Science, organized a symposium on vibrational spectroscopy and gave an invited talk on AI-assisted single-cell Raman identification of microbes at Pacifichem 2025, which was held from December 15-20, 2025, in Honolulu, USA. Pacifichem is one of the largest conferences in the chemistry field, held every five years. It is sponsored by seven chemical societies around the Pacific Ocean, including the Chemical Society of Japan and the American Chemical Society. Professor Shigeto delivered two talks, including the aforementioned talk, and exchanged ideas with participants from various countries.
