Akihiro Nishimoto, Professor, School of Business Administration, received Quarterly Journal of Marketing 2025 Incentive Award from the Japan Marketing Association

On October 12, 2025 at the Japan Marketing Association's award ceremony, Akihiro Nishimoto, Professor, School of Business Administration received the Marketing Journal 2025 Incentive Award from Japan Marketing Association. This award was selected from among the papers published in "Quarterly Journal of Marketing" Vol.43 No.2- Vol.45 No.3, and was highly evaluated for examining the mechanisms by which living with AI-enabled smart objects (such as IoT home appliances and smart speakers) impacts consumer well-being, viewed through the lens of the means-end chain model. The title of his award-winning paper is "Understanding Consumers’ Interaction Experiences With Smart Objects: The Effects of Self-Expansion and Self-Extension on Promoting Consumer Well-Being". Currently, he is further developing the research through field experiments, aiming to clarify the relationship between smart objects and consumer well-being from the perspective of assemblage theory.
