ALE Professor Mary Chang of SPS Presented Research on the “Power of Choices in Language Learning” at the Melbourne International Conference on Teaching, Education, and Learning in Australia

On March 20, 2026, Professor Mary J Chang, a full-time Associate Lecturer of English in the English Language Program with the School of Policy Studies gave a poster presentation on “Power of Choices in Language Learning” at the Melbourne International Conference on Teaching, Education, and Learning, which was held on March 20, 2026 in Australia. Most of the attendees appreciated the presentation resource list of Listening Exercises and Reading Exercises from two free websites (no payment or subscription needed) of which were presented as URLs and QR codes. As it was explained to the attendees, the exercises are progressively more challenging at each level, but each level has several themes/ titles that a student could select from, depending on interest or need.

The Melbourne International Conference on Teaching, Education, and Learning is a venue for members from different disciplines to share their research. More than 20 attendees from approximately 19 countries gathered to give presentations and hold discussions. The diversity of themes in the presentations allowed for more discussions and connections of ideas across disciplines.
