淺野淳博・神学部教授が、2025.6.23–6.27に、スウェーデンのウプサラ大学で開催されたSociety of Biblical Literature International Meeting / European Association of Biblical Studiesにおいて、'Mother/Father of the Synagogues and the Earliest Synagogue-Church Relations in Rome' と題する研究発表を行いました。本国際学会は30カ国以上から500名以上の研究者が集結して研究発表とそれに関する討議を行いました。今回の研究発表は科研費での研究プロジェクトの一部として行われました。
学会では多くのテーマでの発表が行われましたが、とくに発表者は考古学上の新たな発見によって、古代地中海世界におけるいわゆる「皇帝崇拝」の理解が深まりました。これは今後の研究と執筆において非常に有意義なものとなりました。

Atsuhiro Asano (Professor, School of Theology) attended Society of Biblical Literature International Meeting / European Association of Biblical Studies in 2025.6.23–6.27 in order to read a paper titled, 'Mother / Father of the Synagogues and the Earliest Synagogue-Church Relations'. The conference was represented by over 500 scholars from over 30 countries. The paper was a part of the project sponsored by the Ministry of Education.
There were many papers read at the conference, but particularly of interest was the one by Prof Thomas of University of Santa Barbara on the new evidence from the Terrace House 2 in Ephesus, suggesting a new understanding of what is generally called 'emperor cult'.
