Yukihiro Tsukada, a professor in the Faculty of Law, presented a research paper titled “Testicles and Noses: The Postwar Aging Body in Hemingway’s Early Works,” a study on the representation of the body, at the 21st International Hemingway Conference (Hemingway in Toronto 2026), held in Toronto from July 20 to 25, 2026.

The International Hemingway Conference is the largest gathering dedicated to the study of American author Ernest Hemingway. It brought together over 200 scholars from around the world, who presented numerous research papers and engaged in discussions. Research presentations covered a wide range of perspectives — including author studies, body theory, critical theory, gender, sexuality, race, and the environment — and sparked lively debates.
