Joe Takeda (Peofessor, School of Human Welfare Studies) gave a presentation on CBPR for Building a Campus That Respects Diverse SOGIE: Collaborating with LGBTQ+ Individuals in Research and Social Action at the 28th Asia Pacific Social Work Conference – 2025, which was held from November 18th to 20th, 2025 in Colombo, Sri Lanka. The Asia-Pacific Regional Conference on Social Work is an Asia-Pacific conference hosted by the International Federation of Social Workers (IFSW), and this year's theme was "Social Work's Response to Climate Change and Environmental Challenges." 175 researchers from over 30 countries gathered to give presentations and hold discussions. The importance of countries and regions working together to address climate change and environmental challenges from a social work perspective centered on human rights and social justice was confirmed. This international conference gave a sense of the solidarity of "social work" as a profession that pursues the well-being of people and the environment.
