K.G.

International Outreach

Kwansei Gakuin University’s mission is to foster creative and competent World Citizens who embody the school’s motto of “Mastery for Service.” From the standpoint of internationalization, KGU aims to fulfill this mission through three pillars: (1) dispatching students overseas, (2) accepting international students from overseas, and (3) offering international co-education on its campuses.

Dispatching students overseas:
  • One of the top universities in Japan in terms of the number of students who study abroad (#1 in Japan in AY2018, AY 2022 and AY2023), with more than 100 study abroad programs available
  • High-level programs that are unique to KGU (Cross-Cultural College with Canadian partner universities, programs in collaboration with the United Nations and other international organizations, Double Degree study programs, etc.)
Accepting international students from overseas:
  • Accepting diverse students from all over the world
  • An international campus where different cultures co-exist, promoting the construction of an inclusive community
  • Robust Japanese-language education in accordance with a wide range of Japanese levels
International co-education on campus:
  • Fosters mutual understanding and embraces diverse perspectives through collaborative learning between Japanese and international students
  • Cultivates the ability to build meaningful relationships and to mediate between conflicting values
