Dormitory Dining Hall for KGU Students

There is a dining hall adjoining the male dormitories. All KGU students, irrespective of gender, can use the dining hall, even if they do not live in the dormitories.

To use the dining hall, pay up-front for one month's worth of meal tickets the month before using them, or early in the month that they will be used.
Up to 120 boarding students may apply each month (on a first-come, first-served basis). Lunch is available from 12:10 PM to 1:45 PM, and dinner is available from 6:00 PM to 8:45 PM. The price is approximately 23,000 yen for one month (lunch and dinner) or approximately 15,000 yen for either lunch or dinner. Refer to the calendar below for the dining hall schedule.

KGU Homestay Program for Exchange Students

KGU has been running a homestay program since 1980. Doing a homestay is a very effective way to learn about Japanese culture and language, and becoming a part of a Japanese family will be an amazing experience. Most host families live around one hour commute to the university. Homestay participants will have a private room with a wardrobe, desk, chair, and bedding, as well as meals (two meals on weekdays, three meals on weekends and Japanese National Holidays) and Internet access provided by their host family.

*KGU may not be able to find a suitable placement for exchange students due to their preferences, health conditions, dietary needs, or Japanese language skills.
