Anniversary Event Held to Commemorate the Partnership Between Mount Allison University and KGU

On March 6, 2026, Kwansei Gakuin University held an event on the Nishinomiya Uegahara Campus to mark the longstanding relationship between KGU and Canada’s Mount Allison University (MtA). The event was attended by MtA’s Marcie Meekins, Director of Development, as well as Robin Walker, Director of Student Experience. The relationship between the two universities began in 1993 with the signing of a partnership agreement. Over the course of more than three decades, KGU has taken in 38 exchange students from MtA and sent 46 students in exchange. Combined with participants in other programs, this track record of collaboration includes around 1,800 students. This event was held in 2025 to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the Mount Allison Semester Studies in English (MASSIE), the major joint program between both universities, as well as the 15th anniversary of the Cross-Cultural College and School of Sociology Double Degree Program. Approximately 60 faculty and staff members from both universities attended the event to celebrate the longstanding relationship between KGU and MtA.
