Collaboration with Industry

We promote industry-academia collaboration by working closely with a wide range of companies and organizations on initiatives such as startup support, regional problem-solving, and international exchange.

Cultivating Business Acumen

Minato Bank

To foster entrepreneurs and align promising research with corporate needs, we signed a partnership agreement with Minato Bank (a regional bank headquartered in Kobe) to promote industry-academia collaboration. The collaboration focuses on five key areas: (1) human resource development, (2) creation of new industries, (3) matching university research seeds with corporate needs, (4) regional revitalization through community development, and (5) other necessary initiatives to fulfill the objectives of the agreement.
As part of this initiative, we offer a special course in collaboration with Minato Bank.

Ikeda Senshu Bank

To revitalize the local economy, we partnered with Ikeda Senshu Bank and co-hosted the KG Business Plan Contest from fiscal year 2006 to 2019. Through business planning workshops and commercialization support programs, we nurtured leadership-oriented talent capable of identifying and solving challenges through proactive engagement.

Kobe Shimbun

To promote concrete initiatives such as addressing regional challenges—including population decline and the aging society—and fostering IT entrepreneurs, we signed a comprehensive partnership agreement with Kobe Shimbun. Students from the KGU Newspaper Club actively participate in the student editorial meetings.
Kobe Shimbun co-operates the business hub “Anchor Kobe” with Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu LLC, and qualified students from our entrepreneurship program are able to use the facility.

Sankei Shimbun

At the KGU Institute for Industrial Research, we provide students with opportunities to deepen their understanding of the media through collaborative classes with Sankei Shimbun and lectures featuring invited journalists.
