ノートルダム清心女子大学（岡山市）英文学科の植野貴志子教授のお招きを受けた国際学部　難波彩子教授のゼミ生3名が、1年生が履修する異文化理解の授業“General Introduction to International Communication II”内にて、海外で幼少期からどのように生きてきたのかについて、各自の体験を基にしたアイデンティティ形成をテーマに、英語による個人発表を行いました。

3人は「コンテクスト」の違い、「アイデンティティクライシス」、「逆カルチャーショック」、「ハイブリッドアイデンティティ」といった異文化コミュニケーション論や社会言語学の分野に関連づけて発表し、その後クラスで3つのグループに分かれてグループディスカッションを行いました。他大学との交流や、日本に生きる多様なアイデンティティを担う大学生たちについて考える貴重な機会となりました。

Three students of Professor Ayako Namba's seminar in School of International Studies were invited by Professor Kishiko Ueno of Department of English Language and Literature, Notre Dame Seishin University(Okayama), to give presentation in the course "General Introduction to International Communication II" which is a cross-cultural understanding course for the first-year students. The presentation was given in English, and were about identity formation based on their own experiences of how they lived abroad as children.

The three presented the differences in "context", "identity crisis", "reverse culture shock" and "hybrid identity" in relation to the fields of intercultural communication theory and sociolinguistics, followed by a group discussion in three groups. Students had a valuable opportunity to exchange with students from other universities and to think about the university students who will be a core part of diverse identities living in Japan.
