【報告】2026年度関西学院大学文学部スイス・スタディツアー＆スイス・ハイジ博物館学術交流プログラム実施報告
2026年9月1日から9月9日までの9日間，本学の学生25名を引率し，スイスにおけるスタディツアーを実施しました。本ツアーは，現地での実践的なフィールドワークや海外高等教育機関・学術団体との連動を通じ，グローバルな視座と高度な研究発信力を養うことを目的として企画されたものです。
グロスミュンスターに隣接するチューリヒ大学神学・宗教学部にて（9月4日）
滞在3日目の9月4日，スイス屈指の名門校であるチューリヒ大学神学・宗教学部（University of Zurich, Faculty of Theology and Religious Studies）にて，特別学術交流イベントを開催しました。会場となった同学部は，スイス・チューリヒのシンボルであり，スイス宗教改革の拠点でもあるグロスミュンスター（大聖堂）に隣接する，非常に歴史と格調のある学術空間となっています。本イベントは，スイスの学術財団であるThe Heidiseum Foundationの館長である，ペーター・ポルツィン氏とペーター・ビュットナー博士，本学文学部の大喜祐太准教授による共同企画のもとで実現した国際学術連携プログラムです。「ハイジとスイス文化の体現者としてのその役割（Heidi and Her Role as a Swiss Ambassador）」を全体テーマとして掲げ，ヨーロッパで活躍する研究者をはじめとする多数の専門家をお迎えして実施されました。この大舞台において，ツアー参加学生25名の中から選抜された6名の学生が登壇し，「『ハイジ』を通したスイスと日本の教育の比較」をテーマに，英語による研究発表を行いました。発表後の質疑応答では，作品に描かれる教育観や日スイスの文化比較について専門的かつ建設的な議論が交わされました。現地関係者からも「異文化の学術的文脈において新たな課題へ主体的に挑戦したことは，学生たちの将来にとって極めて価値ある経験となった」と高い評価をいただきました。館長のお二方の発表では，『ハイジ』という文学作品が単なる児童文学ではなく，19世紀スイスの自然生活や教育観，都市との社会的対立を鮮やかに体現した文化の象徴であることが示され，さらに，本作品が個人の成長といった物語の中心的なテーマだけでなく，アートやAIといった現代的なキーワードでさえ「ハイジ」と結びつく可能性を持っていることを学びました。
マイエンフェルト・Heididorf（ハイジ村）でのフィールドワーク（9月5日）
イベント翌日の9月5日には，前日の理論的議論を現場で検証・深めるため，マイエンフェルトの「Heididorf（ハイジ村）」を訪問し，フィールドワークを実施しました。歴史あるチューリヒ大学で深めた学術的知見を胸に，学生たちは作品の舞台となった現地を実際に体験しました。これにより，教室内の授業や発表で得た知識をハイジの生まれたアルプスの風景と結びつけ，実践的な学びへと昇華させることができました。
関西学院大学の国際教育の果たす役割と今後の展望
全日程を通して何より印象的だったのは，グロスミュンスターを臨む世界的学術の拠点での発表や現地でのフィールドワークを通して，たくましく成長した学生たちの姿でした。自ら問いを立て，世界へ向けて発信し，対話を重ねるプロセスこそ，本学が推進するグローバル教育の真髄です。

【Report】2026 Swiss Study Tour & Academic Exchange Program at the Heidiseum Foundation
From September 1 to September 9, 2026, a group of 25 students from our university, led by faculty of Humanities, participated in a study tour to Switzerland. Designed to foster global perspectives and high-level academic communication skills, the program integrated hands-on fieldwork with academic exchanges alongside overseas higher education institutions and research foundations.
■ Academic Exchange at the Landmark, Faculty of Theology and Religious Studies, University of Zurich (September 4)
On September 4, the third day of the tour, a special academic exchange event was hosted at the Faculty of Theology and Religious Studies, University of Zurich —a prestigious Swiss institution housed in a historic building adjacent to Grossmünster, the iconic cathedral and landmark of Zurich.
This international program was jointly organized by Mr. Peter Polzin and Dr. Peter Büttner (the Heidiseum Foundation) and Associate Professor Yuta Daigi from the Faculty of Humanities at Kwansei Gakuin University. Centered on the overarching theme "Heidi and Her Role as a Swiss Ambassador," the event brought together local researchers and experts in Europe.
Representing the tour group of 25 participants, six selected students took the stage to deliver research presentations in English on the topic: "Education in Europe and Japan: What We Can Learn from the Age of Heidi." In the Q&A session following the presentations, constructive and high-level discussions took place regarding the educational perspectives depicted in the work and the cultural comparison between Japan and Switzerland. Local experts highly praised the effort, noting that "taking on new challenges independently within a foreign academic context serves as an exceptionally valuable experience for the students’ future."
In the presentations delivered by the two museum directors, it was demonstrated that Heidi is not merely a piece of children's literature, but a cultural symbol that vividly embodies 19th-century Swiss mountain life, educational philosophy, and the social contrasts between rural and urban life. Furthermore, participants learned that beyond the central themes of personal growth, the work even holds the potential to connect with modern concepts such as art and artificial intelligence.
■ Practical Fieldwork: Exploring Maienfeld & Heididorf (September 5)
On September 5, following the academic event, the group traveled to Maienfeld to conduct fieldwork at "Heididorf" (Heidi’s Village), putting the previous day’s theoretical insights to the test in a real-world setting.
Equipped with the academic perspectives developed at the Heidiseum, the students directly observed and experienced the geographic and cultural setting of the novel. This experience allowed them to seamlessly connect classroom learning and presentation outcomes with onsite observations, elevating their study into a truly practical learning experience.
■ Advancing International Education and Future Outlook
Throughout the one-week journey, the most remarkable highlight was observing the profound personal and intellectual growth of the students after presenting at a world-class academic hub overlooking the Grossmünster and engaging in field research. Encouraging students to formulate their own inquiries, communicate internationally, and engage in meaningful dialogue lies at the core of our university’s commitment to global education.
