The Joint Degree System --- Earn 2 Degrees in 4 years

This revolutionary system caters to intellectually ambitious students who want to major in multiple fields. In as little as 4 years, students can graduate and receive a degree from 2 Schools. (Tuition fees are the same as for students studying in a single School.) Kwansei Gakuin is the only university in Japan where students can graduate from 2 Schools in 4 years.
This system is available to students entering the School of Sociology, the School of Law and Politics, the School of Economics, and the School of Human Welfare Studies. For their second major, they can choose from the School of Humanities, the School of Sociology, the School of Law and Politics, the School of Economics, and the School of Business Administration. We are considering extending this system to cover all departments.

Graduating from 2 departments requires more effort than studying in just one. In the United States and other countries, a joint degree is the mark of an outstanding student. There is no doubt that the possession of a double major will prove to be a huge advantage for people who wish to compete in the global arena.

Life Design Program
--- Helping students to make an early start in clarifying their vision of their future and increasing their appetite for learning

scene of class
KGU’s Life Design Program, which helps students clarify their vision of the future had selected by MEXT ( the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology) for its Program for Contemporary Educational Needs.
This program encompasses a range of options aimed at providing students with the knowledge and tools that will enable them to make informed decisions about their future life course.

The first of these, the Curricular Program, encourages students to foster their own outlook on life and on the world. We provide them with the opportunity early on to ask themselves how they want to live their lives and what career they wish to pursue.

Next is the Career Design Support Program, a preparatory program for job hunting, and its linked Extension Program, a job training program in which students sharpen their abilities or obtain qualifications they need for their careers.

Finally, a further, separate Extension Program helps students acquire qualifications, certifications, and job-hunting strategies.

Promoting Industry-Academia-Government Collaboration
--- KGU Students and Teachers Join to Contribute to Society

the Rebirth of Areas
KGU conducts a variety of other activities in the community. In 2005, the Social Outreach Center was established, giving students a chance to learn through first-hand experience outside the regular classroom.

One of the student-led efforts was a project called ‘Revitalizing Theater Capital Takarazuka’ which earned praise from both the city and local business. MEXT ( the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology) chose this project for its Program for Contemporary Educational Needs.
