There are currently about 400 international students studying at KGU as regular (degree-seeking) students. International students are required to take a special entrance examination for foreign students. For details, please refer to the link below.

- Graduate
If you are thinking about entering Kwansei Gakuin University at the graduate level, you must first (and most importantly) find out whether or not your desired course of study is available. Please read carefully through the online Graduate Studies Guide. You will find that the application requirements, examination subjects, and examination schedules will be different for each Graduate School (faculty).
Please refer to the link below for a schedule of graduate school entrance examinations. You can also download the application from our website from two months before the date of the examination.
Degree Programs Taught Only in English
- MBA / Doctoral Program in the Business School
The Kwansei Gakuin University Business School (part of the Institute of Business and Accounting offers an International Management Course, which is taught only in English. This is an MBA program mainly for international students and new university graduates, as well as persons with business experience. Offering an MBA degree of international, this is the only English-language MBA program in the Kansai area of Japan as of April 2009.
The Business School also offers a Doctoral program taught only in English.

Every undergraduate and graduate school of Kwansei Gakuin University actively accepts international students from all over the world in order to promote the internationalization of its education and research. As of December 2008, approximately 500 international students ( including exchange students) were studying at KGU.

- Master' s Program of the International Development Strategy Course in the Graduate School of Policy Studies
"Guide to Application"
Our aim is to provide training to students to enable them to contribute in international organizations with expert knowledge and professional skills.
This is a graduate program designed for international students and returnees, as well as for Japanese students who aspire to work in international settings.
Based on global standards, all courses are conducted in English. This program places great emphasis on practical training; group work and case studies will deal with the peacekeeping, the protection of human rights, and international development. Lectures and seminars by leaders of international organizations will give students insights into the challenging issues being faced in the real world today.
Professors from all over the world
From the time of its establishment, the School of Policy Studies has selected faculty members from all over the world. Almost all faculty members have experience in international organizations or foreign universities. Additionally, the School of Policy Studies invites numerous visiting professors each year from international organizations such as the UN and from foreign universities.
A long-established tradition
Kwansei Gakuin University has educated many students who have gone on to play active roles on the international stage. Our human network with the UN and other international organizations is one good reason to choose the Graduate School of Policy Studies.
Extensive range of course offerings
The Graduate School of Policy Studies covers not only international policy but extends to other important policy-relevant areas including environmental problems, urban policy, informatics, and language policy, enabling students to pursue interdisciplinary research with faculty members and students of other areas.
Program for Exchange Students
Students enrolled in colleges or universities affiliated with Kwansei Gakuin University (the list of universities is
here can apply through their home institutions to study at Kwansei Gakuin University as exchange students, for a period of one year or one (half-year) semester. These students will join the KGU Japan and East Asia Studies Program. Students should contact study abroad officers of their universities.
Students enrolled in North American institutions not affiliated with KGU may apply through
Southern Methodist University or
the University Studies Abroad Consortium (USAC)

Prospective exchange students must be matriculated students of their home universities.
All exchange student applications must be endorsed and sent by the home institution, Southern Methodist University or USAC..
Applicants are required to meet the Japanese Language ability requirements necessary for Japanese Level One for fall admission and Japanese Level Two or higher for spring admission.
Students not meeting the fall requirements may be invited to join the Preliminary Course (P-Course) before the fall semester.
Exchange students are granted academic credits based on the system applicable to regular KGU students.
They receive many of the benefits accorded to regular students, such as access to campus facilities and student discounts for train passes and concert/movie tickets.
