The Graduate School of Humanities got off to a new start in 2007 with a dramatic realignment. The previous 10 Departments of the school were amalgamated into three: the Culture and History Department, the Integrated Psychological Science Department, and the Literature and Linguistics Department. Besides allowing for research beyond the conventional scholastic disciplines, there are a total of 14 areas within the three Departments. This makes wide-ranging and in-depth research possible. With a wealth of documents (including historical materials) and survey and research equipment, as well as invited lecturers from a range of fields, students get meticulous help with their graduate theses. In the School Education Course, instructors who are also working professionals train professional specialists. All in all, the school responds to the needs of today’s education.
